Dot Painting

I did it! I finished my giant Alma Woodsey Thomas inspired piece! Oh man, that one took a while. I was determined to get this piece done by the end of the weekend and now I am happy to say I can check that off my to-do list.

Last year when I was teaching art virtually, I taught a lesson on Alma Woodsey Thomas. I absolutely loved making my example and one day I took a trip to Michaels and their big canvases were half off. Immediately I knew I wanted to recreate a piece inspired by Alma using the colors that I love the most.

A year later, I finished. Check her out!

I have been reserving this spot in our living room for this painting since I pretty much started it (only a year ago).

It’s all coming together. By the way, I can’t wait to rip that carpet up and put down some hardwood floors. But that’s a project for another day!
